"Chase" captures the intensity of the peloton from the inside out – that moment when the race explodes into chaos. Imagine the crackle of team radios, the roar of the crowd, the jostling for position, the desperate chase to reel in a breakaway. Motorbikes weave through the pack, TV cameras capture every move, and the constant threat of danger hangs in the air – a touch of wheels, a sudden swerve, the unforgiving road furniture.

It's fascinating how ordinary stretches of road, often overlooked in daily life, can become the stage for thrilling race-deciding moments. The tarmac takes on a different character, transformed into a temporary battleground where every inch counts. Fans line the route, their cheers and banners adding to the electric atmosphere.

For me, the shadows cast by the peloton hold a special significance. I've tried to capture their dynamic presence in each painting, imagining how riders use them to anticipate attacks and strategise. And then there's the "live" coverage, the constant stream of information beamed across the globe, adding another layer of complexity to the scene.

"Chase" is my attempt to freeze this split-second of intense action, to convey the chaos, the energy, and the human drama of the peloton in a single, abstract moment.
