Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the assassination of President John F Kennedy in Dallas Texas on November 22 1963. He was never convicted because he was in turn shot by night club owner Jack Ruby. This painting is from a famous photo of Oswald being taken to jail, and shows the bruises and cuts he received on arrest. He was shot, live on tv, just after the photo was taken.
