These two boats in a wee harbour in North Uist on the Outer Hebrides are resting on their sides, waiting patiently for the tide coming in. I felt it was a rather tranquil scene.
I had painted the same subject a couple of days earlier, using an underlying pencil sketch before applying the water colours and titled this first painting WAITING. On this one I went in with the brush directly, something I am now doing all the time and slightly altered the title.
Painted on heavy 640gr Fabriano Artistico paper.
