A fairly large figurative painting with a central figure in a beach setting. I was aiming to convey the idea that everything isn’t always as it would seem to be. 

The colours used are complimentary allowing the figures to stand out against the backdrop of the sea. I used wax as an addition to the oil paint, often applying thick paint with palette knives to achieve the finish and texture I was after.
