This painting of a 1960s woman was produced as part of a series of people with vintage hair in bright colours. The titles were all from Songs and this one is taken from True Blue by Madonna. I wanted to portrait my woman as looking out to space and perhaps even having a truthful revelation through her meditative thoughts.

The painting is by adding many layers of acrylic paint which are sanded back to create amazing textures on the surface. The painting is on a birch wood panel and is sealed with a satin varnish to make the colours shine. This artwork is supplied framed in a modern tray frame hand-painted in Farrow&Ball neutral grey.
